I worked my BUTT off last year in my full-ime job as a Retail Manager.  All for a 3% raise.

Woohooo, right? It seems to be the standard percentage across the industry. I mean, it’s SOMETHING, but it’s not going to make me rich.

45 hours a week, plus another 10 hours a week for my commute…. not cool!

There HAS to be a better way!

 

Well, there actually is a better way.

A 3% raise every year isn’t going to get you very far.  Even after 10 years, it doesn’t amount to much, and it doesn’t keep up with inflation and the increase in the cost of living.

How about a 2000% increase year over year?  Creating residual income in JUST A FEW HOURS a week through helping people get healthy and in great shape all while creating their own financial freedom?

It sounds too good to be true, right?  Guess what?? It’s not!  This is the way of the future!

Postpartum Depression

I gave birth to my precious baby boy Bennett almost 2 months ago- July 22, 2015.

We have been absolutely overjoyed and very in love with him!

Lily has been an amazing big sister, (a little overbearing), but amazing.

Unfortunately, I have been struggling with postpartum depression. I’ve always had issues with anxiety and panic attacks, but depression is new for me.

People don’t understand and have asked me, “What do you have to be depressed about?”

haha…. right? I’m actually a fairly happy person and I have an amazing life! So why AM I depressed?

It’s a hormonal or chemical imbalance. Postpartum depression is more common than many people are aware.

There doesn’t have to be a specific reason for feeling this way. When a woman’s body is pregnant, she has a SURPLUS of hormones. Once the baby is born, the hormones come crashing down and this is why some women may experience the “baby blues”.

Does this mean I love my baby any less? NO

Does this mean I am crazy? Maybe…   haha… NO

I’ve been going through counseling sessions to learn how to cope better with the feelings I’m having… and I can tell that it’s already helping. Exercise is recommended to help treat depression. Good thing I have some awesome workout programs at my fingertips!

I never understood how this was a REAL problem that so many women had. I didn’t think it would happen to me.

If you’ve had a baby, and you’re having feelings of depression, talk to someone! Your family and friends are there for you. Your doctor is there of you. I’m here for you too!

It’s all going to be ok. Asking for help is the first step.

Don’t tell me you can’t afford to eat healthy!

Yeah, I get it. Eating healthy has a reputation of costing a lot.

Yes, you can get items for $1 on the McDonald’s dollar menu.

When you’re making healthy choices, you don’t always have to shop at Whole Foods and limit yourself to buy only organic.

It’s all about making the BEST choice for your body. I can tell you that fast food is not that choice.

Here’s a recap of my Aldi grocery-shopping today in preparation for my 7-Day Clean Eating Group that starts Monday!

– I don’t buy meat at Aldi!  I’ll buy that at Giant Eagle.

-Veggies, fruits, cheeses, canned goods, hummus, ricotta cheese, pizza shells, hot sauce, some seltzer water,tortilla chips and a few snacks: yogurt covered pretzels, craisins, and SHOCKING… Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups!

All for $68!  This will last at least a week, and the only other things I will need to buy are meats and eggs from Giant Eagle.

If I can stock my home with healthy foods, you can too!

Is my nutrition 100% on point? Heck no! I have more than my fair share of “cheats”, and that’s ok. I’m happy with the choices I make and I don’t beat myself up for a few slip-ups.

Buffalo Chicken Lasagna Roll Ups

I am obsessed with Buffalo ANYTHING and EVERYTHING! ❤

I am equally obsessed with Italian food. This dish is the marriage of both amazing things!

Here is a great recipe I found and tweaked for Buffalo Chicken Lasagna Roll Ups, complete with a homemade Alfredo Sauce!

Healthy? Not 100%, but the processed ingredients are kept to a minimum.

Ingredients:

1 Box Whole Grain Lasagna Noodles

2 Chicken Breast, boiled and shredded

8 Oz Cream Cheese

2 Cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese

1 Cup of Frank’s Red Hot Buffalo Sauce, divided

3/4 cup of milk

8 oz plain Greek Yogurt

2 TBS Butter

Salt and Pepper to taste

1tsp Garlic Powder

Boil 2 Chicken Breasts for 15-20 minutes until tender and cooked through.

Boil Whole Grain Lasagna Noodles for 5 minutes. They do not need to be cooked thoroughly, since they will be baked!

**Alfredo sauce**

In a small saucepan, sauté butter. Add cream cheese and milk.

Whisk until smooth. Remove from heat and set aside.

Shred Chicken and place in bowl.

Add 8 oz of plain greek yogurt and 3/4 cup of buffalo sauce to the chicken and mix well. Add in 1 1/2 cups of mozzarella cheese to the mixture.

Grease pan. Pre-heat oven to 350.

Spread some alfredo sauce in bottom of pan.

Drain lasagna noodles, and pat dry on a paper towel.

Lay lasagna noodles out, spread alfredo sauce on each noodle with a spoon.

Spoon chicken mixture on to each noodle and roll up!

Place rolls in pan neatly and snug together.

(Little toddler hands work well for this part!)

Top roll-ups with remaining alfredo sauce and a flourish of buffalo sauce.

Finish with remaining mozzarella cheese.

Bake for 20 minutes, until alfredo sauce is bubbling and cheese is melted.
